Presentation of large scale Omega vases and Osmosi-Venini edition at Galerie der Moderne / Stefan Vogdt in Munich.
As the name suggests, the Omega vases have a powerful physical presence. Large scale objects with dynamic graphical shapes, hand-blown glass in numerous refined layers overlapping each other. Colours appear and disappear in the mysterious deepness of glass. Using the extraordinary colours of the Venini palette, Emmanuel Babled continues to explore and reinterpret traditional techniques and knowledge of Murano, mixing history with innovative and original compositions.
Osmosi is an edition of unique glass and marble pieces, where both materials are put together with a precision only possible thanks to high-level digital technology. The result is a surprising symbiosis between marble and glass, there is only one unique piece of glass that can fit in one unique piece of marble. With Osmosi, Emmanuel Babled captures the natural fluidity of hand-blown glass and uses it to shape the marble.
